CODE OF CONDUCT

At Wood Worx Events our goal is to provide a space built on trust, respect, and safety. Our Code of Conduct exist to protect all guests and foster a community of empowered, personal responsibility, informed, consensual kink. We will take whatever measures necessary to ensure the safety of our attendees and their enjoyment of our event.

If you experience or witness behavior that violates these principles or are unsure if something you’ve seen or experienced crosses a line, SPEAK UP. Any violation should be reported immediately. You may do so by contacting a party organizer, event security, or submitting an Incident Report Form. All reports will be handled with discretion and resolved in accordance with the guidelines outlined in our Incident Reporting and Resolution Policy.

For the purposes of this document, the following terms are defined as follows:

• Public Hotel Areas: Hotel Lobby, Restaurant, Pool, Hallways and Elevators.
• Public Party Areas: Party Floor Hallways.
• Private Party Areas: Hospitality Suites, Official Party Events Spaces.
•  Personal Areas: Individual’s Hotel Rooms / Suites.

CONSENT:

Wood Worx Events has adopted the principle of PRICK (Personal Responsibility, Informed Consensual Kink) to define what constitutes sufficient consent. In essence, PRICK consent highlights the need for a proactive and informed approach to BDSM, where participants actively assess and accept the risks associated with their chosen activities. It is not just about getting consent but about understanding what that consent entails in terms of potential consequences and taking ownership of those choices.

• Personal Responsibility: Each individual is accountable for their choices and actions within the agreed-upon activity.
• Informed: Participants should have a comprehensive understanding of the activity, including potential risks, techniques, and tools involved. 
• Consensual: As with any consensual activity, all parties must freely and enthusiastically agree to participate.
• Kink: At Wood Worx Events, this refers to engaging is non-sexual spanking or impact play with a hand or implement, on the covered or bare buttocks.

Consent means an ENTHUSIASTIC “YES.” If you are not absolutely certain that you have consent to engage in an action - DO NOT DO IT! Consent is not open to interpretation, loopholes, or guesswork. When in doubt, ASK - CLEARLY AND EXPLICITLY.

PLAY EXPECTATIONS:

• All play at Wood Worx Events must be fully consensual. Safewords are to be respected without exception. While any safeword agreed upon in negotiation may be used, the default system is the stoplight method: GREEN = All is well, continue. YELLOW = Slow down, check in. RED = Immediately stop all play.
• Mid-scene negotiations are discouraged and strongly advised against. All sexual conduct must be pre-negotiated and follow the rules outlined in the Sexual Conduct section below.
• Bottoms are expected to use safewords if needed and to speak up if something feels off or unsafe. By attending a Wood Worx event, you affirm that you are capable of negotiating for yourself in good faith.
• Do not touch anyone (including but not limited to hugging) without their consent.
• Do not touch anyone's implements without their consent.
• Do not talk to people while they’re actively engaged in a scene; This includes both tops and bottoms.
• Be aware of your surroundings. If you get hit by someone else’s implement, you were standing too close to the scene.
• Be aware that others may be waiting to use massage tables or other play equipment. If there is a wait, please limit your scene to 60 minutes (including clean-up time).
• Cleaning wipes are provided, please wipe down massage tables or other play equipment when your scene has wrapped up.

HARASSMENT:

• Harassment or bullying of any individual, for any reason, is strictly prohibited. Justification or provocation will not excuse harassment. FULL STOP.
• NO MEANS NO. If someone declines to play, talk, or spend time with you, respect that without question or repeated requests.
• Even if a guest has indicated that they will play with you, DO NOT follow them around or engage in behavior that could be considered stalking.
• Bratting can be fun - but bratting at someone who has opted out of play with you or has stated a boundary is considered harassment.
• A “NO” applies across all event spaces, including fundraisers and charity scenes. Do not use charitable or public-facing scenes to bypass personal boundaries or prior rejections.
• Discomfort is not the same as harassment. However, if someone’s behavior is causing discomfort, you are encouraged to address it directly. If it persists, report it to staff or security.
• DO NOT out or threaten to out someone.
• DO NOT encourage self-harm or harm from others.
• DO NOT engage in persistent emotional or psychological manipulation.

DISCRIMINATION:

• Discrimination based on age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity and expression, physical appearance, race, religion (or lack thereof), or sexual orientation is strictly prohibited.

DRUGS & ALCOHOL:

Consent requires a clear and sober mind. Substance use that impairs judgment compromises the safety of everyone involved. To maintain your safety the safety of those around you, the following rules apply:

• Smoking in all hotel areas is strictly prohibited. This includes cigarettes, marijuana, and e-cigarettes.
• The use of illegal drugs, as defined by Illinois law, is strictly prohibited at all Wood Worx events.
• Alcohol is permitted only for guests 21 and over, and only in personal areas. It is not allowed in any public or private party areas.
• Intoxicated or impaired individuals will not be allowed to play. 
• Disruptive behavior due to intoxication or substance use will result in immediate removal from the party area and possibly the event.

SEXUAL CONDUCT:

The default standard at Wood Worx Events is non-sexual spanking or impact play with a hand or implement, on the covered or bare buttocks. To maintain a respectful and inclusive environment for all attendees, the following rules apply:

• Sexual misconduct, assault, or boundary violations are strictly prohibited.
• Full or partial nudity in public hotel areas and public party areas is strictly prohibited.
• Explicit sexual language, contact, or activity in public hotel areas, public and private party areas is strictly prohibited.
• Full or partial nudity while participating in a scene in private party areas is permitted. However, if you are not participating in a scene, please do not be nude. 
• Scenes that involve any sexual content or conduct MUST: Take place in personal areas. Be clearly and explicitly negotiated in advance. Be affirmatively consented to by all participating parties.

PRIVACY:

Wood Worx values the security and confidentiality of all guests. To maintain the privacy and security for all attendees, the following rules apply:

• Photography and video are strictly prohibited unless explicit consent is given by all individuals in frame, including those in the background.
• Only registered attendees are allowed in Party Floor Hallways, Hospitality Suites and Official Party Events Spaces.
• Non-registered, outside guests are strictly prohibited.
• Name tags must be worn at all times in Party Floor Hallways, Hospitality Suites and Official Party Events Spaces. Security may deny entry or remove any individual without one.
• If you see someone without a name tag, please notify a staff member or security immediately.
• Do not disclose another guest’s identity, background, or personal details to anyone else. Everyone has the right to decide how much of themselves they wish to share

HOTEL CONDUCT:

• Do not initiate discussions of anything kink-related with the hotel staff.
• Do not verbally or physically abuse the hotel staff.
• Do not discuss anything kink-related with non-attending hotel guests.
• Clothing in public hotel areas MUST Be vanilla friendly, that means NO fetish wear in public hotel areas.
• Do not have your implements out or visible in public hotel areas.
• Nudity in public hotel areas is strictly prohibited.
• Play in public hotel areas is strictly prohibited.
• Any activity that damages hotel property, disrupts non-attending hotel guests or endangers our relationship with the hotel is strictly prohibited.
• Firearms and/or weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited. 

Wood Worx Events reserves the right, without the refund of any portion of the pass purchase price, to suspend or permanently ban without warning offenders of our Code of Conduct, any individuals with pending charges or convictions related to felonies, domestic violence, sexual assault, or any individual registered as a sex offender, or any individual whose presence may cause a disruption at our events or in our official group chat. If you fall into one of these categories, you are not allowed at a Wood Worx event. Before each event, we check every attendee on the National Sex Offender Public Website to ensure the safety of all who attend.
